Michael Volkert, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in children, adolescents, and young adults. With over 15,000 hours of clinical experience and advanced training at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), he brings both medical expertise and human understanding to families navigating ADHD, anxiety, and overlapping conditions.
Families trust him not only for his credentials but for his ability to explain complex diagnoses in plain language, build confidence in the treatment process, and provide care that feels approachable and thoughtful. His goal is simple: to give families clarity and a path forward when standard approaches fall short.

Dr. Volkert has worked across the full spectrum of psychiatric care, from inpatient to outpatient and emergency settings. He has spoken locally and nationally on ADHD, anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, and transitional-aged youth. At CHOP’s Center for Management of ADHD, he helped expand access and improve quality of treatment for individuals with attention-related conditions.
